Th anime basically covers all materials from I"s Volume 11 to Volume 15 with a lot of omission. The DVD mainly covers these;
1. Iori business and Ichitaka thought she wont wait for her in park.
2. Isai manager asked Ichitaka to break with Iori
3. Ichitaka and Teratani found out about Marionette king
4. Ichitaka fight with Marionette king
5. Ichitaka reminiscence of him & Iori last Christmas
6. Iori talking to Ichitaka in coma
7. Happy Ending

Aiko, of course, is not included. Yuka replaced Koshinae role of telling Iori that Ichitaka dont want to wake up from his dream. The trip after graduation and everything about Izumi in between are not covered. I realized that I havent write the summary for 3, 5 and 6. I'll do it in near future.

Time for Ichitaka to confess to Iori! I"s Pure DVD 5 will be available on 26th of May. I wonder why they skip the production in April. Like the new cover very much!

I"s Pure 4 Vertige

DVD 4 introduced a new character Izumi Isozaki. After the last DVD, they skipped the part where Ichitaka and his friends went to their friend house to think of a new play. The Ousama game part (chapter 51-63) was omitted and the story jumped straight to volume 8 or chapter 64. I’m pretty confident that DVD 5 and 6 will develop Ichitaka and Iori relationship at the present time after watching DVD 4. DVD 4 ended with the scene where Iori and Ichitaka were spending the Christmas together in a karaoke room. The episode title is Vertige, meaning Giddiness.

My Comments so far:
Pretty much what I have anticipated, the encounter with Izumi. Izumi didnt act like the one in the manga. Next DVD will be "declaration d'amour" for declaration of love. Of course Ichitaka illusion diary is on Izumi this time.

I"s Pure 3: Adieu

DVD 3 covers the story of Ichitaka being sick, Iori visit and the gift from the temple, Itsuki helping Ichitaka cutting his hair, the plot of the gang to trap Iori, Ichitaka dating with Itsuki, Ichitaka saving Iori and Itsuki telling Ichitaka that shw would go to America. There is definitely signs of the characters starting to deform, especially during the conversation between Ichitaka, Iori, Teratani and the lying boy.

My Comments so far:
DVD 3 is still mainly about Itsuki. This DVD is bit disappointing for me as the quality drops compared to the previous 2 DVDs. As usual too much skip. Again Koshinae left out was a big issue here. Although I dont really like Koshinae but leaving him out makes the whole story feel so empty. DVD 3 covers chapter 38 to 40 and then jump straight to chapter 48 ending at chapter 50.

What else is bad? The new hair cut Ichitaka looks ugly. The one in the manga looks much better. The story on the valentine chocolate, threat from Koshinae, denial of Ichitaka feelings and Itsuki appearance in Ichitaka school, all omited!!!

I"s Pure 2 <回想> DVD

It's hard to find the raw for the DVD now. I'll put up snapshots once I have the raw. Meanwhile I found some information and snapshots of the DVD.

DVD 2 covers the appearance of Itsuki, the school trip, Ichitaka visit to the shrine with Iori, and the fire accident of itsuki house with her crying over the burnt Ichitaka mould. From the snapshots, there is a sign of the characters starting to deform but the scenery setting is excellent, especially the visit to the shrine.

I"s Pure OST Released

The I"s Pure OST is released today, 14th December 2005. The OST comprises 22 songs produced by Kacky (Marina del Ray). Watched the first DVD, main theme's ok, but I like some of the background music. I have sent in my pre-order. (^o^)

I"s Pure DVD 1: Au Commencement

Just finish watching I"s Pure DVD1, no bad at all. The character designs and background is excellent. Nevertheless, there are still some deform for the characters at certain angle especially far-shot. Near shots were done very well. DVD 1 basically covers the whole Volume 1 of the manga. Some dissappointing things were the omission of certian plots such as thought of Ichitaka and quick coverage of some parts.

Summary:
The anime started with Ichitaka on a street with hustle and bustle of the Christmas season. He was high school third year waiting for his friend, Teratani. He then reminisce about his 1st year in high school and how he met Iori.

I was so happy when they announced I"s Pure production since the last OVA was a failure. Though there are only 6 DVD scheduled, I hope they would be worth watching.
